1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using starcrew.link (the “Platform”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (the “Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Platform.

Your continued use of the Platform after any changes to these Terms constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Service Description

starcrew.link is a community platform for the video game Star Citizen. It connects new players with experienced veterans through shared gameplay interests, facilitates ship lending, provides Looking for Group (LFG) features, direct messaging, a friend system, and hosts referral-based giveaways.

The Platform is a hobby/community project and is provided free of charge.

3. Account Requirements

  • You must provide a valid email address to create an account.
  • You must be at least 16 years of age to use the Platform.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Do not share your password with anyone.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You may only maintain one account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions is prohibited.

4. RSI Handle Verification

The Platform offers an optional RSI (Roberts Space Industries) handle verification feature. Verification is entirely voluntary and is not required to use the Platform.

How verification works

  1. The Platform generates a unique verification code for your account.
  2. You place this code in the “Bio” section of your RSI citizen profile page.
  3. The Platform reads your public RSI citizen page to confirm the code is present.
  4. Once confirmed, your account is marked as verified. You may then remove the code from your bio.

By initiating verification, you consent to the Platform accessing your publicly available RSI citizen page for this purpose.

5. User Content

You retain ownership of all content you submit to the Platform, including but not limited to LFG posts, messages, profile information, and any other user-generated content.

By posting content on the Platform, you grant starcrew.link a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display, distribute, and reproduce your content solely for the purpose of operating and providing the Platform.

You are solely responsible for the content you post and must ensure it does not violate these Terms or any applicable law.

6. Ship Lending

The Platform facilitates connections between players who wish to lend or borrow virtual ships within Star Citizen. By using the ship lending features, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • All ship lending is conducted at your own risk.
  • Ship lending involves virtual items only. No real-money transactions are facilitated, processed, or endorsed by the Platform.
  • The Platform acts solely as a meeting point and is not a party to any lending arrangement between users.
  • The Platform bears no liability for any loss, damage, or dispute arising from ship lending, including but not limited to failure to return a lent ship.

7. Giveaways

The Platform allows verified veterans to create giveaways for newcomers who register on Roberts Space Industries using the veteran’s referral code. By participating in giveaways, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • Giveaway creation requires a verified RSI handle and is subject to admin moderation. Veterans must provide screenshot and video proof that the prize is giftable.
  • Giveaway entry requires registering on RSI using the veteran’s referral link and providing your RSI handle along with screenshot proof of registration.
  • Winner selection is random from confirmed entries. The Platform facilitates the process but is not responsible for prize delivery.
  • All giveaway participation is conducted at your own risk. The Platform does not guarantee that prizes will be delivered and is not a party to any gift transaction between users.
  • Uploaded proof files (screenshots and videos) are stored on the Platform and may be reviewed by administrators and the giveaway creator for verification purposes.

8. Prohibited Conduct

When using the Platform, you must not:

  • Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely claim an affiliation with any person or entity.
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other users in any way, including through messages, LFG posts, or profile content.
  • Post spam, unsolicited advertisements, or repetitive/disruptive content.
  • Scrape, crawl, or automated-access the Platform except through its publicly provided interfaces.
  • Exploit bugs or vulnerabilities in the Platform. If you discover a vulnerability, please report it to [email protected].
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users’ accounts or to the Platform’s infrastructure.
  • Use the Platform for any activity that violates applicable law.

9. Intellectual Property

Star Citizen, Roberts Space Industries, Cloud Imperium Games, and related logos, names, and marks are trademarks or registered trademarks of Cloud Imperium Rights LLC and Cloud Imperium Games Corp.

starcrew.link is an independent, fan-made community project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Cloud Imperium Games or any of its subsidiaries.

All other trademarks, service marks, and trade names used on the Platform are the property of their respective owners.

10. Limitation of Liability

starcrew.link is a community/hobby project. The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operator of starcrew.link shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from or related to your use of the Platform.

The Platform does not guarantee uninterrupted, secure, or error-free service. Downtime, data loss, and service interruptions may occur without prior notice.

11. Termination

The operator of starcrew.link reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including but not limited to violation of these Terms.

You may delete your account at any time through the Platform’s account settings. Upon deletion, your personal data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including Limitation of Liability, Intellectual Property, and Governing Law) shall survive any termination or expiration of these Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Poland, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Poland.

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will provide at least 30 days’ notice by posting a prominent notice on the Platform before the changes take effect.

Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
